Plot

After her parents are killed in a car accident, 12-year-old Baltimore native Melina "Midge" Mayhan is forced to move to Santa Monica, California to live with her older sister Davina, a 20-year-old college co-ed, after she grants full custody of her. Midge and Davina are incredibly close, but their relationship becomes strained when Davina becomes romantically involved with an older gentlemen named Byron, a mysterious 38-year-old man with a shady past. Midge starts to disapprove of her sister's new relationship with Byron because he's way too old for her and that she thinks he's just only taking advantage of her. Just as Davina and Byron's relationship soon heats up, a lot of weird stuff starts going on: Midge's necklace, that her mother gave her, goes missing and she starts to suspect that Byron may have had something to do with it. Midge thinks it's just all in her head, but she later does a background check on Byron and finds some shocking information about him that could ultimately put her older sister's life in danger.
