Ahirwar

The Ahirwar, Ahirwal or Aharwar are members of a North India Yadava/Ahir caste. The Ahirwar Kshatriya were derived from Yaduvanshi Kshatriya Ahir clan. The Ahirs are one of the most ancient martial tribes of India, who ruled over different parts of India and Nepal since ancients times. They stand on an equal footing with the Rajputs and Jats in the caste hierarchy, however they do not usually inter marry. It is considered as a very progressive caste.[1][2]
