Andrey Sukhovetsky

Andrey Aleksandrovich Sukhovetsky[1] (27 June 1974 – 28 February 2022) was a Russian general.[2][3] He was in military operations in the North Caucasus and fought in Abkhazia during the Russo-Georgian War of 2008. He had a role in the annexation of Crimea by the Russia in 2014. From 2018 to 2021, Sukhovetsky headed the 7th Guards Mountain Air Assault Division.

A general, Sukhovestsky fought in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. He was killed in combat in Ukraine on 28 February 2022 after being shot by a sniper.[1]
