Bette Greene

Bette Greene (June 28, 1934 – October 2, 2020) was an American author of many books for children and young adults. Some of her best known works were Summer of My German Soldier, The Drowning of Stephan Jones, and the Newbery Honor book Philip Hall Likes Me, I Reckon Maybe. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee.

Greene died of heart failure on October 2, 2020 at her home in Lakewood Ranch, Florida at the age of 86.[1]
