Cedilla

A cedilla is an extra mark added to a letter of the alphabet. People use it when writing in French, Portuguese and a few other languages.[1]

The mark looks like this: (¸) The cedilla is added to the letter 'c'. When a c has a cedilla, that means it is said like an s and not like a k.[1] This is called a soft c.
