Cheri Bustos

Cheryl Lea Bustos /ˈbsts/ (née Callahan; born October 17, 1961) is an American journalist, healthcare executive, and politician. Bustos was the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 17th congressional district from 2013 to 2023. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Bustos was the first woman elected to Congress from her district.[1]

In April 2021, Bustos announced that she would not run for another term in 2022.[2]
