Deutsch: Unmittelbar nach der Mobilmachung, am 3. August 1914, wurde Adolf Hitlers Gesuch an den König Ludwig III. von Bayern zum Eintritt in das bayerische Heer genehmigt. Am 16. August wurde Adolf Hitler als Kriegsfreiwilliger angenommen und dem bayerischen Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 16 (List) zugewiesen, dem Adolf Hitler bis zum Kriegsende angehört hat.

English: Immediately after the mobilization, on 3 August 1914, Adolf Hitler's application to King Ludwig III of Bavaria to join the Bavarian army was approved. On 16 August Adolf Hitler was accepted as a war volunteer and assigned to the Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 16 (cunning), in which he served until the end of the war.
