English: Coat of arms of the faroese capital Tórshavn. In use since the 1920's although never formally granted. The name of the city means "Thor's harbour" and the arms are canting with the hammer representing the Norse god Thor and the waves the harbour.
Dansk: Tórshavns byvåben. I brug siden 1920'erne, men aldrig formelt tildelt. Våbnet er talende; hånden med hammeren symboliserer den nordiske gus Thor, mens bølgerne symboliserer havnen.
