Deutsch: In einem Siegel von 1747 führte die Gemeinde bereits eine Egge, ein „redendes" Bild. Der Ortsname, 770 als Aginesheim anlässlich einer Schenkung an das Kloster St. Gallen erstmals genannt, ist allerdings vom Personennamen Egino herzuleiten. Als Symbol der Landwirtschaft als früherer Erwerbsquelle der Bewohner Egesheims hat die Egge ihre Bedeutung im Wappen des Ortes. Am 10. Januar 1958 fand die Verleihung des Wappens durch das Innenministerium unter Festlegung der Tingierung statt. Die Farben Weiß und Rot wurden in Erinnerung an die frühere Zugehörigkeit des Ortes zur Grafschaft Hohenberg gewählt, deren Wappen ein von Silber und Rot geteilter Schild war. Zur Unterscheidung von anderen Gemeindewappen mit einer Egge wurde der Stern als Beizeichen hinzugefügt. Er kann auch als Symbol für Maria, die Kirchenpatronin in Egesheim, gedeutet werden.
