Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Arnsberg vom 1. Juli 1971 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Der Wellenbalken symbolisiert die namensgebende Lippe, während die "goldene Brücke" für den Zusammenschluss mehrerer beiderseits der Lippe gelegener Gemeinden zur neuen Gemeinde Lippetal steht. Leider verstößt die goldene Brücke in Silber gegen heraldische Regeln (s. Tingierung)English: „Argent, a bend wavy azure charged with a bridge Or sinister in topview.“
The arms of Lippetal were granted on July 1, 1971. The municipality was created in 1969 and the arms are canting; the Lippe river in a valley under a bridge (Lippetal means Lippe valley). The bridge is a symbol for the unification of the old municipalities (none of these used arms) on both sides of the river. |
