Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Neuried ist durch Vereinigung von Altenheim, Dundenheim, Ichenheim und Müllen am 1. Januar 1973 entstanden. Ein Jahr zuvor war Schutterzell nach Ichenheim eingemeindet worden. Der Ortsname für die Gesamtgemeinde spielt auf ihre Lage in der Rheinebene und die Riedflächen im Gemeindegebiet an. Im Wappen Neurieds sind keine Embleme aus den Wappen der Ortsteile verwendet worden, die diese seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts führten. Wie der Name nimmt auch das Wappen vielmehr Bezug auf die Geographie der Gemeinde. Es wurde vom Generallandesarchiv entworfen, vom Gemeinderat im September 1976 gebilligt und vom Landratsamt Ortenaukreis am 27. Oktober 1976 verliehen. Der blaue Balken kann als Hinweis auf den Rhein gelten, der Rohrkolben ist eine charakteristische Riedpflanze.
