Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Winterbach besteht seit 1972 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Winterbach, Waldkirch und Rechbergreuthen. Das Gemeindewappen enthält Hinweise auf die Geschichte aller drei Orte. Das Eisenhutfeh stammt aus dem ehemaligen Wappen der Gemeinde Rechbergreuthen und ist dem Wappen der Grafen von Pappenheim entnommen. Sie gründeten den Ort im 14. Jahrhundert durch Rodung und waren die Ortsherren, bis Rechbergreuthen im 17. Jahrhundert bayerisch wurde. Daran erinnern die Farben Silber und Blau. Der Löwe stammt aus dem Wappen der vom 13. bis 16. Jahrhundert nachweisbaren Herren von Waldkirch. Winterbach gehörte seit 1621 zum Fürststift Kempten. Aus dem Wappen des Fürststifts wurden die Teilung von Rot und Blau sowie aus dem Oberwappen das gestürzte Schwert, das die Kemptener Landeshoheit symbolisiert, sowie der Bischofsstab übernommen. |
