Deutsch: Der Wolf steht redend für den Ortsnamen. Der Ast mit den Blättern weist auf den Weiler Waldstetten hin, der bereits 793 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wird und heute zur Gemeinde Wolferstadt gehört. Die Wappenfarben Silber und Rot sind die Farben des Hochstifts Eichstätt, das seit 1179 Besitz im Gemeindegebiet hatte und Gerichts- und Hofmarkherr im Ort war.
