Beginnend mit zufälligen Zentroiden und Einheiskugeln (da die Achsen unterschiedliche skaliert sind erscheinen sie flach und breit) passt sich EM schnell an die echte Datenverteilung an.

Die X-Achse ist die Dauer des Geysir-Ausbruchs, die Y-Achse ist die Zeit seit dem vorherigen Ausbruch.
English: EM Clustering of Old Faithful data. Starting with a random assignment and unit spheres (note that the axes have different scales), EM quickly adapts to the dataset. X axis is the duration of the geyser eruption, Y axis is the delay from the previous eruption.
