English: On the west end of Hatley Castle, Esquimalt Lagoon is a beach and wildlife preserve with a view of the Royal Roads University in the background. A thin spit of sand separates the ocean beach from the salt-water lagoon. A small plaque on a concrete cairn in the shore of the Esquimalt Lagoon outlines its history. An anchor sits by the concrete cairn. |
