Television was live then and most to all of the live broadcasts were never recorded. This also illustrates the Roy Brown/Frazier Thomas re-design of the puppet. It is this version that is depicted in the ad for the show and the puppet version identified as Garfield Goose. This puppet is now in the Museum of Broadcast Communications and was the puppet used for all but the very early days of the program, which began on September 29, 1952.
