Summary

Description
English: Cladogram illustrating the difference between crown Tetrapoda and Tetrapoda in the traditional sense.
  • Crown Tetrapoda (M. Lorin; Phylonyms, 2020): the smallest crown clade, the smallest crown clade containing Homo sapiens, Caecilia tentaculata, Siren lacertina, and Pipa pipa. Crown tetrapods are highlighted in blue.
  • Tetrapoda sensu lato (apomorphy-based definition): all descendants of the first vertebrate with tetrapod limb. An asterisk indicates a hypothetical tetrapodomorph, which is the first tetrapod in accordance with this definition.
