Summary
DescriptionYale Peabody Apatosaurus skull sculpt.jpg |
English: The skull from the original mount of Brontosaurus (= Apatosaurus excelsus) holotype YPM 1980. This skull was sculpted by hand by an unknown author for the Yale Peabody Museum before 1931. In 1931 the skull was unveiled to the public as the affixed head of the overall skeletal mount. What it is known today is that this skull had been previously sculpted at some point between the late 1890s and the moment in 1931 when it was unveiled to the public at the Yale Peabody Museum.
