Nakajima was best known for portraying Godzilla from the 1950s through the early 1970s. Nakajima was Godzilla for 12 movies straight. He retired from acting in 1973.
Nakajima died on August 7, 2017 in Tokyo of pneumonia at the age of 88.[1]
