Jade Ewen (born 24 January 1988) is an English singer and actress. Ewen was born in Plaistow, Newham, London to a Jamaican mother and Scottish-Sicilian father. She started her career when she got the role as Nala in the West End production of The Lion King, she has then been seen in many TV-series in both the United Kingdom and Australia. In 2005 she joined R&B group Trinity Stone which reached moderate success in the UK, Ireland and Russia. In early 2009 she was selected by Andrew Lloyd Webber to participate in the UK national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia.[1] A selection she won and represented the country at the Eurovision that same year placing fifth. Since September 2009, Ewen is a member of the girl group Sugababes.
