Jo Stevens

Joanna Meriel "Jo" Stevens (born 6 September 1966)[1] is a Welsh Labour Party politician in the UK House of Commons. She was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cardiff Central in the May 2015 general election.[2] She was born in Swansea, Wales.

In Jeremy Corbyn's January 2016 reshuffle, she was appointed shadow solicitor general and shadow justice minister. In October 2016 reshuffle, after Corbyn's re-election as party leader, Stevens became Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.[3] She resigned from the shadow cabinet on 27 January 2017, due to a disagreement over triggering article 50.[4]
