Laurie Hendren

Laurie Jane Hendren (December 13, 1958 – May 27, 2019) was a Canadian computer scientist. She was a graduate of Queen's University and Cornell University. She is noted for her research in programming languages and compilers. McGill University. In 1990, she began working as an assistant professor at McGill University and became a full professor in 2001. She was awarded a Canada Research Chair in 2011. She was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.

Hendren was born in Peterborough, Ontario. She was married and had a daughter. She died of cancer on May 27, 2019 in Montreal, Quebec. She was 60.[1]
