Lithium carbide

Lithium carbide is a chemical compound. Its chemical formula is Li2C. It is often called dilithium acetylide. It is made up of lithium and carbon. It is an acetylide. It was first produced by Moissan, in 1896 who reacted coal with lithium carbonate.[1]
