Discharge (hydrology)

(Redirected from Outflow (hydrology))

In hydrology, discharge is the outflow of water from a river or lake or other body of water. The discharge describes how much water flows through, in a certain amount of time. The amount is usually expressed in [math]\displaystyle{ \frac{m^3}{s} }[/math] (cubic metres per second).

The discharge is the opposite of the inflow.
