Paul Myners, Baron Myners

Paul Myners, Baron Myners (1 April 1948 – 16 January 2022) was a British businessman and politician. He was the Financial Services Secretary in the UK's finance ministry during the Labour Government of Gordon Brown.[1][2][3]

He also served on the Prime Minister's National Economic Council and at present sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords. He has been working in the financial sector since 1974 and was a chairman of the Low Pay Commission. He also served as the chairman of the Guardian Media Group which publishes The Guardian and The Observer newspapers in the United Kingdom.

Myners died at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, on 16 January 2022, at the age of 73.[4]
