Ronnie Biggs

Ronald Arthur "Ronnie" Biggs (8 August 1929 – 18 December 2013) was a British robber. He is took part in the Great Train Robbery of 1963. The robbery happened on his birthday.[1]

Biggs was born in Stockwell, Lambeth, London. He escaped from prison in 1965 and lived as a fugitive for 36 years. In 2001, he chose to return to the United Kingdom and spent the next eight years in prison.

Biggs was released from prison on compassionate grounds on 6 August 2009.[2] He died in Barnet, London, aged 84.[3] His cause of death was not released.[3]
