University of Denver is a private university in Denver, Colorado. The university has about 11,644 students. It was founded in 1864. The current chancellor of the university is Jeremy Haefner.

Sports

The athletics teams of the university are called the Pioneers. They have 17 varsity teams, most of which compete in The Summit League.

Some Pioneers teams play in other conferences. The men's ice hockey team plays in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. The men's and women's lacrosse teams play in the Big East Conference. The skiing team, made up of both men and women, competes in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association. The women's gymnastics team is a member of the Big 12 Conference.
