Usage

To display the infobox in articles, please copy the following source text into the start of the article:

List of parameters

Variable Type Explanation
position optional Position of the hieroglyph infobox, default is "right"
width optional Width of the hieroglyph infobox, default is "300"
title optional Name in of the header of the infobox, if not entered the article name + "in hieroglyphs" will be displayed.
expanded title optional Replaces the text „in hieroglyphs" by the entered text.
name optional, but must be entered for all parameters, which begin with "name" Name of the subject in hieroglyphs
name in cartouche optional Switches on the display of cartouche, the parameters must be entered in a preferred sequence, e.g. "yes"
name cartouche symbol optional Places the entered hieroglyphs before the cartouche, if not cartouche will be displayed
name in Serekh optional Switches on the display of Serekh, the parameters must be entered in a preferred sequence, e.g. "yes"
name Serekh symbol optional Places the entered hieroglyph symbol before the Serekh, if not the Serekh will be displayed
name determinative optional Places the entered hieroglyphs after the cartouche or the Serekh.
name transcription optional Transcription of the hieroglyph name of the subject
name explanation optional Explanation of the name of the subject, also translation and/or English name, as well as possibly the place of discovery of the name
name unicode optional Unicode encoding of the hieroglyphs
name2 to name10 optional, but must be entered for all parameters, which begin with name2 to name10 Other names of the subject in hieroglyphs
name2 in cartouche to name10 in cartouche optional Switches on the display of cartouche for the corresponding other name, the parameters must be entered in a preferred sequence, e. g. „yes"
name2 cartouche symbol to name10 cartouche symbol optional Places the entered hieroglyphs before the cartouche, if not the cartouche will be displayed
name2 in Serekh to name10 in Serekh optional Switches on the display of Serekh for the corresponding other name, the parameters must be entered in a preferred sequence, e.g. „yes"
name2 Serekh symbol to name10 Serekh symbol optional Places the entered hieroglyph symbol before the corresponding name in Serekh, if not the Serekh will be displayed
name2 determinative to name10 determinative optional Places the entered hieroglyphs after the cartouche or the Serekh.
name2 transcription to name10 transcription optional Transcription of the corresponding other hieroglyph names of the subject
name2 explanation to name10 explanation optional Explanation of the corresponding other name of the subject, also translation and/or English name, as well as possibly of the place of discovery of the name

Greek optional The corresponding Greek form
Greek expanded optional additional text entries of the left side of the "Greek" line
Coptic optional The corresponding Coptic form
Coptic- Sahidic optional The corresponding Sahidic form
Coptic- Bohairic optional The corresponding Bohairic form
Coptic-Ancient Coptic optional The corresponding Ancient Coptic form
cuneiform optional The corresponding cuneiform form
Remarks optional For general remarks about the hieroglyphs
image1 to image5 optional images under the infobox
image1 width to image5 width Entry of the width of the images from image1 to image5, defaults are 200px

Hieroglyphic Combinations

Hieroglyphic combinations are divided into sets of a letter and a number in unicode. Each hieroglyphic is provided with a letter and number set listed on the Hieroglyphics Chart. Example: A001 would be written in the Hieroglyphs Infobox as A1.
