Template:Talk archive navigation/doc

< Template:Talk archive navigation

This template is intended for use at the top of numbered discussion archives.

Usage

Add {{talk archive navigation}} to the top of an archive; no parameters required. Archive pages must be numbered, with a capital "A", a space before the number and no leading zeros (for example, Talk:Foo/Archive 1) in order for this template to work. If archives are named by some other scheme, use {{talk archive}} instead.

If you do not wish the template to show links to archive pages that haven't been created yet (redlinks), set the noredlinks parameter to y: {{talk archive navigation|noredlinks=y}}. Omitting this parameter or setting it to any other value than y causes it to be ignored.

If you want to specify a date range for the period covered, you can use |period=March 2006 to April 2007 (as an example) as an optional parameter. The period parameter is freeform, so you can use whatever format you like.

Do not substitute this template.

This template will only work for archive pages up to 50. For numbers greater than that, some other system such as {{archive navigation}} should be used instead.
