Castellaneta

Castellaneta is a city and comune in the province of Taranto, in the Apulia region of Southern Italy. It is about 40 km from the city of Taranto.

In February 1985, a six-story apartment building in Castellaneta fell down, killing 21 people and injuring 9. It is believed that heavy rains after a harsh winter in Italy had weakened the building's foundation.[1]
