Death of Benito Mussolini
Benito Mussolini died on 28 April 1945 in Giulino (a city in north Italy) when the allied powers were advancing up Italy during the final days of World War II in Italy. Mussolini and his mistress tried to escape to Switzerland, but were caught by Italian partisans and were executed without trial. There body’s were taken to a gas station in Milan and hung upside down and later stoned. Four days after his death, the Italian Social Republic surrendered.
