Object history
English: duplicates of two lost canvases which belonged to the Gondi family in the early 17th century. The canvases were painted around 1460 for the Medici and formerly exhibited in the sala grande in their Palazzo Medici-Riccardi. The two panels came to the Uffizi in 1798; they were lost in World War II, were recovered in 1975 and displayed in the Gallery.
