Description
English: This map by Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702) is an altered reproduction of a map published in 1658 by his father Nicolaes Visscher I. The map had great influence on other maps of America in the 17th and 18th centuries. The east coast especially, is very accurately represented. This is not the case with the American westcoast, where California has been represented as an island.
