Description
English: While the Sphodromantis hangs upside down eating a honeybee, a biting midge in the family Ceratopogonidae fills its belly with green mantis blood. The midge is on the front right femorotibial joint of the mantis leg.

Observed near Somerset West, South Africa. Such midges (together with Milichiidae) often approach crab spiders and mantids eating honeybees.
