Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde zuletzt am 31. Oktober 1975 vom Arnsberger Regierungspräsidenten genehmigt. Es entspricht dem des aufgelösten Kreises Arnsberg, das am 31. Oktober 1963 verliehen wurde. Es zeigt den Adler der Grafen von Arnsberg, sowie das kurköllnische Kreuz. Die Symbole erinnern an die früheren Herrschaften Grafschaft Arnsberg und Herzogtum Westfalen. English: The arms are last granted on October 31, 1975 (first on October 31, 1963 for the former Arnsberg district). They show the eagle of the counts of Arnsberg, with an escutcheon with the arms of the Electorate of Cologne, which remembers on the former ruler, the Duchy of Westphalia. |
