Short I (Й, й), otherwise known as Iy (which sounds like [y]) or Yot, is a letter in the Cyrillic alphabet. It sounds like [j]. It is an И with a breve over its top.

Short I is used in the Russian alphabet, where it is called I Kratkoye (И Краткое), the Ukrainian alphabet, the Bulgarian alphabet, where it is called I Kratko (И Кратко), and the Belarusian alphabet.

In Serbian, Macedonian and Azeri, Ј is used instead of Й.
