Kyle Thomas Busch (May 2, 1985 – May 21, 2026) was a NASCAR race car driver. Busch raced in all of NASCAR's U.S. national touring series—the Cup Series, O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Craftsman Truck Series. Kyle's brother, Kurt Busch, used to race in the NASCAR Cup series.

Busch won his 100th NASCAR race on July 17, 2011. He was only the third driver in NASCAR history to do this. The other two drivers are Richard Petty with 200 wins, and David Pearson with 106 wins.[1] With over 50 wins in the Nationwide series, Busch had more wins than any other driver in that series.[2] At the end of the 2015 Sprint Cup Series, Kyle Busch won his first Sprint Cup Series Championship.[3]

On May 21, 2026, it was announced that Busch was hospitalized for a sudden illness shortly before the 2026 Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina.[4] He died later that same day at the age of 41.[5] The cause of death was sepsis caused by pneumonia.Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many

  • Busch waving the checkered flag after winning the 2008 Toyota/Save Mart 350 at the Sonoma Raceway. The No. 18 car became his signature of his NASCAR Cup Series career.

  • Busch racing his truck at the 2022 DoorDash 250. Busch would eventually become the all-time wins leader in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

  • Busch had occasionally competed in dirt late model events, including the 2009 Battle at the Grove charity race at the Williams Grove Speedway.

  • Busch also raced in super late model competition, such as the 2012 Slinger Nationals at the Slinger Super Speedway, at which he won the pole position.

  • After Busch's death, flowers were placed on his car at the headquarters of sponsor Mars Wrigley

  • A No. 8 decal on Austin Hill's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series car along with a San Diego win sticker commemorating Richard Childress Racing's first victory since Busch's passing
