Parasomias are sleep disorders that interrupt sleep. They can be broadly classified:
- Problems with arousal (NREM sleep): Sleepwalking and night terrors (Pavor nocturnus)
- Problems associated with REM sleep: Nightmares, sleep paralysis
- Other problems, including for example hallucinations, or eating disorders.
