Abolfazl Gozali (Athlete)

Abolfazl Gozali (Persian: ابوالفضل گوزلی; born January 6, 1984) is an Iranian high-altitude mountaineer and climbing coach. He has taken part in several major expeditions in the Himalayas and Central Asia.

Climbing Highlights

  • Summited two eight-thousanders: Broad Peak and Gasherbrum II
  • Climbed nine peaks over 7,000 meters, including:
    • Lenin Peak
    • Peak Pobeda
    • Khan Tengri
    • Peak Korzhenevskaya
  • Reached 7,900 meters on Makalu in a winter attempt (2025)[1][2]
  • Received the Snow Leopard Award for climbing all five 7,000m peaks in the former Soviet Union
  • Summited Lhotse without oxygen or Sherpa assistance in 2023
  • Heads the K2 Mountaineering Club in Tabriz
