Aden
Aden (Arabic: عدن <span title="Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Language/data/ISO 639 override' not found. transliteration" class="Unicode" style="white-space:normal; text-decoration: none">ʿAdan) is a port city in Yemen. It is at the Red Sea (the Gulf of Aden). About 800,000 people live there. Aden was controlled by the British Empire from 1839 to 1967.

Portuguese conquistador and viceroy Afonso de Albuquerque failed twice to conquer Aden in 1513.
