Albert Buunk
Albert "Abbas" Buunk (20 May 1924 – 29 January 2025) was a Dutch politician. He was a member of Christian Democratic Appeal. He was acting mayor of Valburg from 1981 to 1985.

Biography
Buunk was born in Zelhem on form "De Pol" on 20 May 1924. His parents Hendrik Jan Buunk and Johanna Geertruida Lammers were farmers. He had eleven brothers and sisters. He worked from 1942 at the municipalities of Doetinchem, Zelhem, Lochem and Olst. Early 1967 he transferred to the provincial registry (in Dutch: provinciale griffie) of Gelderland. On 1 January 1981 he became the director of the Municipal Finance Department at the province of Gelderland and in May of that year Buunk was appointed acting mayor of the municipality of Valburg. He had to deal with the merger of seven municipalities, He took early retirement in mid-1985.[1][2][3]
Buunk died in Hummelo on 29 January 2025, at the age of 100.[2]
