Arup
Arup is a company that provides engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services. It was once known as Ove Arup & Partners. It was founded in 1946 by Sir Ove Arup. The company (and its associated practices in Ireland, Africa and Asia) now has more than 7000 staff based in 73 offices in 32 countries. It has projects in more than 160 countries. In 2004-05, Arup had an annual profit of more than £400 million (US$700m).

It is best known for its engineering design work. Projects it has helped with include the Sydney Opera House, the Pompidou Centre, the Oresund Bridge, the Seattle Library, the new De Young Museum, the HSBC headquarters in Hong Kong, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and the London Millennium Bridge.
