Asif Mohseni
Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Asif Mohseni (Persian: آیتالله العظمی محمد آصف محسنی) (Sheik Mohseni) (26 April 1935 – 5 August 2019)[1] was an Afghan politician and religious leader. He was seen as the most powerful Twelver shia Marja' in Afghanistan.[2][3] He was the founder of the Islamic Movement of Afghanistan (Harakat-I Islami-yi Afghanistan).[4] He was a Shia Pashtun.[5] He was born in the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan.[4][6]
