Bánszállás is a former mining village in Ózd District of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. It has been part of Ózd since 1940.

History

Starting in 1841, there was temporary coal mining, and from 1857 it became permanent for the Ózd Ironworks.

The village was annexed to Ózd in 1940.

The mine closed in 1957, and since then the plant's reputation has suffered.
