BBC Four is a television channel operated by the BBC. It was only available through digital means such as freeview or Sky until all of the televisions in the UK were set to digital. It launched on 2 March 2002. It often shows documentaries and arts programmes that often have a much smaller audience than BBC One or Two. It shows programmes between 7pm and 4am every day.
