Bang the Drum Slowly is a 1973 sports drama movie directed by John D. Hancock and stars Robert De Niro, Michael Moriarty, Vincent Gardenia and Danny Aiello in his cinematic debut. It is based on the 1956 novel of the same name by Mark Harris and earned one Oscar nomination for Vincent Gardenia.
