Boiling Lake
Boiling Lake is a hot lake, on the island of Dominica. It is about 60 metres (200 ft) to 70 metres (230 ft) across. The lake is about 59 metres (194 ft) deep. The water at the edge of the lake is hot. It is about 80 °C (176 °F) to 90 °C (194 °F). This makes it the second-biggest hot lake in the world, after Frying Pan Lake, in New Zealand. The lake is over a fumarole. It can be reached by hiking. It takes about three hours one way, from the nearest road. The lake is one of the sources of Rivière Blanche, one of Dominica's main rivers.
