Cabaret is an American musical movie. It was directed by Bob Fosse. The movie was released by Allied Artists on February 13, 1972. Cabaret was the first ever movie to be rated PG by the MPAA.
In 1995, Cabaret was selected by the United States National Film Registry.

Christopher Isherwood disliked the 1972 film as he felt it depicted homosexuality in a negative light.[1]
Minnelli reprised the character of Sally Bowles for an encore performance in the 1973 television special Liza with a Z, also directed by Bob Fosse.
