Camcorder
A camcorder is an electronic device which combines a video camera and a video recorder. Most devices capable of recording video are camera phones and digital cameras primarily intended for still pictures.[1] The term "camcorder" is used to describe a portable, self-contained device, with video capture and recording as its primary function.[2][3]

Sony Betamovie BMC-110 (BMC-100P in PAL markets) is the first consumer camcorder. Released in 1983 for the Betamax format. It has no playback functionality and is only capable of recording.
Camcorders using standard DVD media like this (or more commonly MiniDVD) were marketed in the 2000s.
