Camilo Sesto
Camilo Blanes Cortés (16 September 1946 – 8 September 2019),[1] known professionally as Camilo Sesto, was a Spanish pop and rock singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Alcoy, Spain. Sesto was also a guitarist and drummer. His best known songs were "Algo Más" and "Amor Mío, ¿Qué Me Has Hecho?".
Sesto died on 8 September 2019 at a Madrid hospital from heart failure, eight days before his 73rd birthday.[2]

Camilo Sesto received many important awards during his career. These facts prove he sold millions of records:
- Platinum Record (1979): He was the first Spanish artist to receive this for selling 13 million copies worldwide.
- Silver Seagull (1981): First artist to win this award by public acclaim at the Viña del Mar Festival. In 2004, he returned and won the Silver Torch, Gold Torch, and another Silver Seagull.
- Cultural Ambassador (2007): Named Ambassador of the Alto Guadalquivir region for his work in culture and sports.
- Greatest Hispanic Pride (2011): Awarded in Las Vegas, USA, for his 50-year career.
- Camilo Sesto Day (May 28): An official day proclaimed by the state of Nevada, USA.
- Mr. Gay Pride Spain (2011): Award for his lifetime career and influence.
- Excellence Award in Charlotte (2014): Awarded in North Carolina, USA.
- Favorite Son and Gold Medal (2016): The highest honors from his hometown, Alcoy.
- Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (2017): He was officially inducted for his work as a composer.
- Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts (2019): A high honor from the Spanish government given after his death.
- Cultural Ambassador (2019): Posthumously named Ambassador of the Valencian Community.
- Ondas Award (2019): A prestigious award for his life's work.
